Red velvet cake with vanilla buttercream 🖤

The Easter desserts are starting to flow through me 🐰🪺 These are my chocolate cupcakes stuffed with a surprise @gertrudehawkchoc cream egg topped with a halved egg and more cadbury eggs…how many times can I say egg 🤔

Since it is almost Easter, I wanted to share my buttercream recipe again! It’s great for crumb coating, stacking, cupcakes, you name it - and with a couple extra ingredients, helps keep it not so sweet. Comment icing below and I will send it to you!

These sugar-coated bunny peep cookies are almost too cute to eat! 🐰✨ How did I do @peepsbrand ?

I used @whipzi_co lavender, lemon, strawberry and vanilla, with a touch of food coloring to match the peeps colors - adding a delicious touch of extra flavor! Which color is your favorite?

Bringing texture to life with the #233 tip! ✨ this is a tip I most commonly use during Easter - so I had to make it this week’s “tip of the week” with Easter on its way! Whether it’s grass, fur, or fluffy textures, this piping tip is a staple to have. What’s your favorite way to use it? 🌿🧁

Natural color has been a popular choice with Wild Flour Bakehouse and these gorgeous base colors can be achieved so easily with @Chefmaster natural food coloring! Tips for using natural dye in buttercream and royal icing are:
• Make a day or two in advance to let the color saturate
• Use an emersion blender to help emulsify the dye
• Start with your base color, then add more the day you need it if you want to adjust the hue and shade
• Use black cocoa powder or normal cocoa for brown or black(in this video I just let it sit overnight)
• Use pink and orange to help intensify your red

2 reels in one day? Definitely not my usual - but it’s National Ravioli Day and I couldn’t resist! 🍝

I underbaked these so they were my husband’s and I favorite, or you could say a little “doughy” inside. I mean…it fits the theme right?

These cookies are giving me @realchefboyardee vibes from my childhood

Sometimes for holidays, a simple cupcake plated differently is all it takes - like this shamrock. These ombré buttercream swirls are giving all the St. Patrick’s Day vibes! ✨💚 Piped with a JEM3J and topped with a little golden touch. 🍀

☘️ Dubai Chocolate Bar Cinnamon Rolls? 👀 Absolutely, and while I need to tweak the filling just a tad, the use of @whipzi_co chocolate powdered sugar for the icing made the flavors pop!

After some much needed family time, I’m finally getting all my green St. Patricks Day sweets posted - these brownies were made with @pyureorganic and topped with a gorgeous mint icing 🍀

Here is my hack and tip to getting vibrant red with @chefmaster natural food coloring! My biggest tip? Make in advance and let it rest at least 12-24 hours! Natural food coloring needs a lot more time to absorb into buttercream or royal icing. (These tips I use for royal icing the exact same). After resting, add more red or of your other colors if needed.

Wilton 4B is another most used among my piping tips! Simple to use and lots of options in terms of designs, including the shells, shell rope, dollops and spiral rope. This is a great beginner tip to have in your collection if you don’t have it already!

This goes out to all the bakers and small businesses out there, I know we don’t take as many breaks as we need and It truly popped in my head that I needed too as well. Instead of scrambling around my kitchen once more to do more content or order prep, I said you know what; I’m going to make myself this tiny cake and sit down for once to watch my favorite show - and that’s what I did, and it was the best. So be sure to remind yourself to sit down and relax! Even make yourself a tiny cake, with sprinkles of course.

Comment “both” and I’ll send you my recipes for my cake and buttercream! Fun fact this tiny layer of cake and buttercream have been frozen and it tasted amazing and fresh still!

Since Spring and Easter are around the corner, I had to bring back these adorable lavender lemon cookies made with @whipzi_co lavender powdered sugar, and @mad.batter.cookieco cookie cutters!

I might experiment with more sugar cookie flavors this spring too! 👀

TIP OF THE WEEK!

With lots of requests on piping and how I decorate my cakes and cupcakes, I decided to start a tip of the week. Today’s being one of my most used and favorites - JEM 3J

I was actually smiling the entire time piping this because all that was playing in my head was the Shrek theme song… 😅

One of the easiest and cutest DIY toppers you can make - perfect for topping cakes and cupcakes. You can use pre-colored melting wafers like I did here or white chocolate and color to your liking.

I cleaned my bubble wrap and let air dry for a day before using and always make sure to let your chocolate cool for a couple minutes after heating so it isn’t too hot when you pour onto your bubble wrap. 🍯🐝

The essence of spring is showing in the kitchen! Working with floral and citrus flavors is a favorite of mine and these lemon honey cupcake bc sure does it 🍋🍯thanks to @mountainridgehoney for allowing me to try their raw and organic honey - so yummy! Who else enjoys lemon and honey together?
